Berry St. Alliance (BSA) unifies local block associations, businesses and residents from Williamsburg and Greenpoint Brooklyn. We are a community-based organization that grew out of a need to represent ourselves and directly communicate with city agencies, local politicians and Brooklyn Community Board 1.
An executive order to provide outdoor space for people to safely socialize was supposed to be community led & temporary. Then in 2021, NYC Council rushed legislation to make Open Streets permanent while people were sick, dying and usual business was suspended. Streets are closing monthly without public review or studies as result.

The Nassau/Bedford Ave 2018 redesign was supposed to be a temporary redesign for the L train shutdown. Today, the only shutdown is another street closure to worsen the conditions of the intersection.
